About the Author
My name is Jenifer Nguyen. I am interested in social science, especially analyzing why and how people behave they way they do in many aspects. I plan on majoring in Economics and Anthropology, but I'm still open to other options as well. I am from Clarkston, Georgia, also known as "the most diverse square mile in America" by Time Magazine, and "the Ellis Island of the South." Contrary to expectations, I did not go to Clarkston High School like my siblings did. Instead, I went to Chamblee Charter High School, commuting by shuttle through I-285, taking at least 30 minutes on average, all in hopes for a better education. I am focusing my autoethnography on first-generation students at Emory, because that particular topic is most relevant to my recent experiences so far.
